Amazing May 2024

Amazing May is a special month-long campaign that brings together local businesses and people in the community to support Texas Children’s Hospital. Every time you dine, shop or give, you will help improve the future of healthcare for children and women in Houston, Austin and beyond.  

Thanks to generous donors, a variety of matches and challenges will be available to maximize your donation when you give throughout the month! 

Matching gifts are funds that expand the gifts made by individual donors. For example, with a 1:1 (one-to-one) match, for every dollar you donate, the matching donor also gives $1. Matches typically continue until the full amount of the matching gift is used.

A challenge is a gift that is unlocked when a certain donation goal is met by other donors. For example, someone may make a challenge gift of $10,000 that becomes unlocked if 100 donors make gifts between May 1–May 31.

Getting involved in Amazing May is easy:

Dine and shop at our partners during their Amazing May events, May 1–31, 2024. See TexasChildrens.org/Amazing for a complete list of promotions offered throughout the month. 

Post and share your favorite promotions and ask your followers to participate in #AmazingMay on social media. Be sure to let people know why and how you will make May amazing for children in our community. 

Use our Advocate toolkit to make your social media posts and emails easy. You may even use the graphics we provide. 

Follow Texas Children’s on Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) and like and share the #AmazingMay posts. 

Extend your support even further. Sign up to become an online advocate for Texas Children’s year-round. 

Be sure to use the hashtag #AmazingMay, #TexasChildrens and your favorite business’ hashtags so we can amplify your messages!

Ways to Participate

Percent of Sales: Donate a percent of portion of total sales for a day, week or the whole month of May

Point of Sale: Ask the customer to donate at the register or ask the customer to round up their bill to the next dollar

Match Donations: Match donations from customers and employees up to a certain dollar amount

Sponsorship: Show your support by becoming a sponsor of Amazing May

Special Items and Events: Donate all or a portion of the proceeds from a special product or menu item or host a special event and donate proceeds to Texas Children’s

Donate: Make a gift on behalf of your company to Texas Children’s Hospital

Yes! All donations are processed using a secure online giving form.

You may choose anonymity on the Amazing May donor walls by hiding your name and/or donation amount. If you have any questions or concerns, please email AmazingMay@texaschildrens.org.

Yes, your entire gift is eligible for tax deduction. You will receive an email confirmation that can serve as your receipt for tax purposes. 

You will receive a gift receipt via email.

There is a minimum donation of $5 during the Amazing May campaign.
